Robert Moilanen is a shareholder of Anthony Ostlund Baer & Louwagie. Prior to joining the firm in 2007, Mr. Moilanen worked on Capitol Hill for Senators Walter Mondale and Hubert Humphrey and subsequently for Vice President Mondale. Mr. Moilanen also worked for the Minnesota Attorney General’s office representing the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. Mr. Moilanen spent 17 years with Popham, Haik, Schnobrich, Kaufman & Doty representing shareholders in securities fraud disputes as well as several fortune 500 companies in products liability litigation.
Mr. Moilanen has recently served as lead attorney in several highly publicized cases including representing a large group of accredited investors in a private placement offering, a class of homeowners surrounding the Minneapolis airport and a class of investors in connection with the purchase of an ethanol plant by Archer Daniels Midland. Recently, Mr. Moilanen has represented a Minnesota based developer of wind energy projects in several multi-million dollar disputes which were successfully resolved.
Throughout his years of practice, Mr. Moilanen has received numerous awards and frequent recognition from his colleagues in the Bar and from the Bench for his professionalism and the quality of representation of his clients.
Mr. Moilanen has been named a Super Lawyer by his peers on seven occasions since 2000, received a Judge’s Choice Award for professionalism and has maintained an AV rating with Martindale Hubbell. Mr. Moilanen is also a qualified "neutral" for mediation purposes identified on the Minnesota Supreme Court's Alternative Dispute Resolution roster.

Professional Activities
Mr. Moilanen is a member of the Minnesota and Hennepin County Bar Association. In 2010, he was appointed to the Nominations Committee for the Hennepin County Bar Association.
Mr. Moilanen is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Minnesota, the United States District Court for Minnesota, the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the District of Columbia. In 2010, Mr. Moilanen was appointed to the
Mr. Moilanen has also appeared, pro hac vice, before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the Middle District of Florida and the Southern District of California. Mr. Moilanen has appeared in the state courts in Hawaii, Wisconsin and Florida.
